About us
Heaven for Strays began with one simple belief – every animal, whether injured or abandoned, deserves a genuine chance to heal. We are a care and recovery centre that provides a safe place for animals to recover. An organisation that does not function as a shelter, we simply step in when an animal has nowhere else to go. We serve as the bridge between rescue and recovery.
We are rooted in the motto that healing comes first. Our team focuses on medical care, daily attention, and gradual rehabilitation until each animal is strong enough to move into a permanent home. Most of them find families within weeks, and watching that journey happen again and again keeps our work grounded and meaningful.
This is a place built on effort, love, and care.

A highly respected veterinarian from Nagpur Veterinary College, Dr. Aher has dedicated his life to animal welfare since opening his Pet Care Center in 2000. Over his remarkable career, he has handled roughly 80,000 animals and performed life-changing sterilizations for 30,000 dogs and 10,000 cats.
Driven by the belief that animals are a vital part of our society who deserve a comfortable life, he has consistently treated animals in need for free. This lifetime of quiet, selfless service naturally evolved into the creation of the Heaven for Strays Foundation.
